\n<\/strong><\/span>The Department of Ecosystems and Conservation<\/a> is<\/span> one of the six departments in the College of Forestry, Wildlife and Tourism<\/a>, Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) located in Morogoro Region, Tanzania. The Department<\/a> was formed in July 1984 as a Department of Forestry Biology following the establishment of SUA by elevating the former Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine of the University of Dar es Salaam to a fully-fledged University of Agriculture<\/a>. The name changed to Department of Ecosystems and Conservation<\/a> to accommodate emerging issues and growing expertise in July 2017. We offer teaching, research, consultancy and outreach services in the area of Botany<\/a>, Ethnomycology<\/a>, Beekeeping<\/a>, Bee resources, Natural and plantation forest silviculture<\/a>, Tree improvement<\/a>, Agroforestry<\/a>, Forest protection<\/a>, Forest soils<\/a>, Climate change<\/a>, Biodiversity<\/a>, Integrated ecosystem assessment<\/a>, Ecological impact assessment and planning, Environmental flows assessments<\/a>, Integrated watershed management<\/a>, Invasive species biology<\/a>, Detection and control, Ecology<\/a>, Restoration<\/a> and Eco – physiology.<\/span><\/p>\n
