Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to;<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of the basic principles of wildlife management and beekeeping.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of Tanzania wildlife and beekeeping policies.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Plan and carry wildlife census. <\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Apply the acquired knowledge and skills to manage beekeeping and wildlife management activities. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Contents: <\/span><\/strong>Introduction to basic concepts of wildlife conservation. Classification of wildlife. Wildlife population ecology. Social organization and behaviour of wild animals. Estimation and analysis of wildlife populations. Wildlife habitat: requirements of African wild animals; habitant improvements. Wildlife-vegetation interactions. Management and utilization of wildlife. Wildlife policy, laws and law enforcement in Tanzania. Wildlife conservation education. The honeybee: biology and distribution; the honeybee as a natural resource, beekeeping practices in East Africa. <\/span><\/p>\n
