Course Learning Outcome<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

At the end of the course students should be able to:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Understand the concepts that underlie the dynamics of agroforestry<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Apply agroforestry knowledge in management approaches, limiting problems and available opportunities that optimize the resources management systems’ benefits to provide a basis for rational decisions.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Undertake research to iron out constraints\/limitations in resources management systems to indicate possible agroforestry system\/technology interventions for improved systems’ efficiency and optimized products and services outcomes<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Course contents<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Concepts of the available natural resources, uses and their dynamics, sectoral resources management approaches, their limitations and opportunities for adoption of agroforestry which is the integrated, complementary and multi-benefit resources management systems; agroforestry systems classification, technologies and their management; role of agroforestry in resources use efficiency, resources conservation, recycling, improvement, sustainability, products multiplication and diversification including carbon sequestration, environmental amelioration and climate change.<\/span><\/p>\n
