Application\u2019s Open<\/b>: 1st January 2025 – 1st March 2025<\/p>\n

Award<\/b>: Up to \u00a330,000<\/p>\n

Opportunity<\/b>: x 6 conservation grants made available to individuals and small organisations working to protect EDGE species or EDGE zones worldwide. Grants will be awarded over 1 year, with an optional 1 year no-cost-extension offered to all candidates.<\/p>\n

Scope<\/b>: Increasing the capacity of individuals working to conserve EDGE species and prevent ecosystem<\/a> loss in, where possible, an EDGE zone. Conservationists will be paired with storytellers to influence local behaviour change towards nature and to increase the impact and reach of conservation<\/a> activities.<\/p>\n

Eligibility<\/b>\u00a0criteria<\/b>: Funding will be allocated to early to mid-career individuals and small organisations, those who are ready to scale up their impact. Applicants must be working to protect<\/a> EDGE species or EDGE zones, have strong ties to local communities, and are working in applied conservation. We’re looking for ambitious, adventurous, pioneers in their field, those who will greatly benefit from funding to help them realise their potential. We know you’re out there.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s<\/b>\u00a0included<\/b>: Grant of up to \u00a330,000 | Capacity Building<\/a> In-Person Workshop | Mentorship and Scientific Support | Pairing with a storyteller to increase engagement, impact and visibility of their work | Access to On the Edge\u2019s network.<\/p>\n

What we do not<\/b>\u00a0fund<\/b>: To prioritise impact on the ground, we do not support costs associated with conference attendance<\/a> and travel, ex-situ scientific research, non-local overheads and large organisations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

What are EDGE Zones?<\/strong>
\nEDGE Zones are biodiverse<\/a> spaces that cover less than 1% of the world\u2019s surface, but are home to one-third of the world\u2019s threatened evolutionary history.<\/p>\n

These hotspots are home to many EDGE species. There are 25 zones worldwide, including the Western Ghats in India<\/a>, the subtropical evergreen forests in North Vietnam, and the temperate forests of Eastern Australia. many EDGE species live.
