The World Food Prize (US$250 thousand) recognizes an individual or individuals who have made outstanding achievements to enhance the world\u2019s food production and its distribution to those most in need. Fields of achievement include soil and land; plant and animal science; food science and technology; rural development; water and the environment; natural resource conservation; poverty elimination; and many others. The deadline for nominations is 01 May 2025. About the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldfoodprize.org\/en\/nominations\/the_world_food_prize\/the_world_food_prize_nomination\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>World Food Prize<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"YellowBorderBottom\"><strong>Nomination Criteria<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><a class=\"button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.worldfoodprize.org\/index.cfm?nodeID=93679&amp;audienceID=1\">Nomination Documentation<\/a>\u00a0<a class=\"button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.worldfoodprize.org\/index.cfm?nodeID=93680&amp;audienceID=1\">Nomination &amp; Selection Procedure<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"upperCaseBold\">The <a title=\"Celebration of World Food Safety Day \u2013 Theme: Food Safety, Everyone\u2019s business\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/celebration-of-world-food-safety-day-theme-food-safety-everyone-s-business\">World Food<\/a> Prize is awarded<\/span>\u00a0for a specific, exceptionally significant, individual achievement that advances human development with a demonstrable increase in the quantity, quality, availability of, or access to food through creative interventions at any point within the full scope of the food system.<\/p>\n<p>Fields of achievement include, but are not limited to: soil and land; plant and animal science; food science and technology; nutrition; rural development; marketing; food processing, packaging and storage; water and the environment; <a title=\"Assistant Research Fellow (Natural Resources Management)(Re-Advertised) \u2013 2 Post\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/assistant-research-fellow-natural-resources-managementre-advertised-2-post\">natural resource<\/a> conservation; physical infrastructure; transportation and distribution; special or extraordinary feeding programs; social organization and poverty elimination; economics and finance; policy analysis and implementation; and public advocacy.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This exceptionally significant achievement must be shown to have resulted in a demonstrable increase in the quantity, quality,\u00a0availability of, or access to\u00a0food for a large number of people.<\/li>\n<li>The <a title=\"ONLINE COURSE: Designing Conservation Projects and Measuring Impact\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/online-course-designing-conservation-projects-and-measuring-impact\">impact of this achievement must be measurable<\/a>, quantifiable, or otherwise demonstrated either in terms of reduced poverty, hunger, or suffering; or enhanced health, nutrition, quality of life and well-being.<\/li>\n<li>It <a title=\"Urgent call: States must act now on Climate Change, Food Security, and Health\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/urgent-call-states-must-act-now-on-climate-change-food-security-and-health\">must be clearly shown that this increase in food security<\/a> was the direct result of the specific actions and activities of the nominee; i.e., without his or her specific accomplishment, no change would have occurred.<\/li>\n<li>A nominee must be living and in sufficiently good health to attend the World Food Prize Award Ceremony. The nominee must be able to give an acceptance speech and agree to participate in selected media events and the World Food Prize <a title=\"Global Environmental Education Partnership: Youth Innovation Challenge 2024\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/global-environmental-education-partnership-youth-innovation-challenge-2024\">Global Youth<\/a> Institute at the time of the Award Ceremony.<\/li>\n<li>The Prize is intended to be awarded to one person. In exceptional circumstances where\u00a0an additional person (or persons) has\u00a0collaborated in an indispensable way, more than one person may be included in the nomination. However, it must be demonstrated conclusively that each person contributed in an essential way, and that without each individual\u2019s contribution, no achievement would have been possible.\u00a0The World Food Prize Selection Committee will determine whether a joint nomination\u00a0meets these\u00a0criteria, and in cases where it judges this standard has not been met, to limit the number of persons being considered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To submit a nomination, please visit\u00a0<u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldfoodprize.org\/wfpnominationform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this form<\/a><\/u>.
