{"id":11043,"date":"2025-04-22T22:26:46","date_gmt":"2025-04-22T19:26:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/?p=11043"},"modified":"2025-04-22T22:26:46","modified_gmt":"2025-04-22T19:26:46","slug":"supporting-climate-innovation-in-the-2025-climate-change-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/supporting-climate-innovation-in-the-2025-climate-change-challenge","title":{"rendered":"Supporting climate innovation in the 2025 Climate Change Challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Submissions\u00a0<span data-contrast=\"auto\">are open for the Oxford Sa\u00efd Global Climate Change Challenge 2025, a competition in which students and teachers from around the world are invited to join forces in combatting the climate crisis.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Climate Change Challenge, in partnership with Sa\u00efd Business School and the University of Oxford, aims to inspire high school students and teachers to apply their innovation, creativity, and problem-solving skills to generate unique solutions to tackle climate change\u2014whether at a local, national, or global level.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Following the success of the 2024 competition\u2014which received over 1,000 entries from more than 58 countries\u2014we are proud to be continuing our support for the Climate <a title=\"Climate Change\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/climate-change\">Change<\/a> Challenge and its encouragement of climate education, innovation, and action.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>As we mark Earth Day 2025, we are committed to <a title=\"Education and Climate Change: A focus on International Day of Education 2024\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/education-and-climate-change-a-focus-on-international-day-of-education-2024\">educating students on climate change<\/a>, as well as reducing our impact on the climate and nature from our own operations. Last year we announced our aim to reach\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/corp.oup.com\/news\/our-commitment-to-net-zero\/\">net zero by 2050<\/a>, and have detailed our progress against our other sustainability goals in our most recent\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/corp.oup.com\/responsible-publishing-report-23-24\/\">Responsible Publishing Report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a title=\"Serengeti and Maasai Mara face climate change challenges for wildlife and tourism\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/serengeti-and-maasai-mara-face-climate-change-challenges-for-wildlife-and-tourism\">Climate Change Challenge<\/a> welcomes student and teacher Presentation\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/undergraduate-students-research-project-presentation\">student competition will have the opportunity to present their projects<\/a> at Sa\u00efd Business School in Oxford, and the finalists of the teacher competition will present at COP30 in Brazil in November 2025. Overall winners will attend a tailored <a title=\"European School of Sustainability Science and Research- Doctoral Programme on Climate Change Adaptation by Publications\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/european-school-of-sustainability-science-and-research-doctoral-programme-on-climate-change-adaptation-by-publications\">climate change programme at Sa\u00efd Business School<\/a> in spring 2026.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Submissions are now open and will close at 23:59 GMT on 30 June 2025.
