Each scholarship empowers a dedicated conservationist to build his or her capacity. In turn, these people are in a position to share the benefits of their knowledge and skills with others and so spread the benefits.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"The_Prince_Bernhard_Scholarships_are\">The Prince Bernhard Scholarships are:<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Enabling<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 help people be more effective to achieve conservation<\/li>\n<li><strong>Developmental<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 nurture scholars to become conservation leaders<\/li>\n<li><strong>Multiplying<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 inspire graduates to train others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span id=\"Who_should_apply\">Who should apply?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>As a priority, the PBS support mid-career training (up to a maximum of one year) for individuals working in the field of conservation or associated disciplines directly relevant to the delivery and promotion of conservation. Applications from candidates doing multiple-year studies will only be considered if the applicant is applying for support for the last year of studies.<\/p>\n<p>Applications are encouraged from people seeking to build skills in specific subjects that will enhance their contribution to nature conservation. In particular, women and people working for non-governmental or community-based organizations are encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n<p>Only nationals from Africa, Asia\/Pacific, Latin America\/Caribbean, Eastern Europe &amp; Middle East will be considered, including WWF staff or candidates working as partners with WWF. Applicants must provide written proof of acceptance on a course, and proof that they are also seeking funding from other sources.&nbsp;Preference is given where appropriate to those who seek support for studies in their country or region.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"How_to_Apply\">How to Apply<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The Application Form can be downloaded in the below link (with information on how to complete the form in English,&nbsp;French &amp; Spanish). Applications&nbsp;should be submitted to the candidate&#8217;s nearest WWF or Associate Office and the deadline for submission is beginning of January each year. The list of&nbsp;<em>WWF Office Contacts for PBS<\/em>&nbsp;(showing the countries represented on this programme)&nbsp;can also be downloaded in the below link.<\/p>\n<p>Each WWF Office or Associate carries out an initial screening of the applications they receive and make their recommendations to the PBS Selection Committee, which meets end of April each year. Only those applications recommended by a WWF Office or Associate (accompanied by the completed WWF Recommendation Form) will be considered.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Amounts_Awarded\">Amounts Awarded<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The maximum amount for any one scholarship under this scheme is CHF 10,000. Only in exceptional circumstances will the maximum award be granted.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"WWF8217s_Expectations\">WWF&#8217;s Expectations<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>After completion of their studies Prince Bernhard Scholars are expected to return to their home country or region to work in conservation, or a related field.<\/p>\n<p>If accepted, and upon completion of the course, the Prince Bernhard Scholar must provide a final report on the activity undertaken and how it was conducted, with an itemized account of the use made of the funds.<\/p>\n<div class=\"container-fluid We could not have had such a successful program without your help.<br \/>Your generosity made it possible for an international environmental practitioner to develop her leadership capacities in order to &nbsp;perpetuate global environmental, social, and economic altruism.<br \/><strong>Imrana Khan<\/strong>&nbsp;brought her wealth of knowledge on environmental storytelling to the Beahrs ELP.&nbsp;Her work to raise funds, liaise&nbsp;with project partners, and produce environmental films has been instrumental in helping to communicate environmental issues with Dusty Foot in India. Imrana truly made the most out of her time at the Beahrs ELP, and the program would not have been the same without her inspiring energy, knowledge, and enthusiastic participation.&nbsp;<strong>Dede Krishnadianty<\/strong>&nbsp;brought her wealth of knowledge on environmental economics&nbsp;to the Beahrs ELP.&nbsp;Her work has been instrumental to bringing&nbsp;issues of climate change and its economic impacts to the Indonesian government. By drawing from her work with&nbsp;WWF-Indonesia to reverse environmental&nbsp;degradation, while equitably managing&nbsp;Indonesia\u2019s ecosystems and biodiversity. Dede and Imrana&#8217;s unique perspectives would not have been represented without your support.
