{"id":3812,"date":"2022-09-13T23:53:20","date_gmt":"2022-09-13T20:53:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/?p=3812"},"modified":"2022-09-21T18:13:56","modified_gmt":"2022-09-21T15:13:56","slug":"students-learning-field-map-technology-for-forestry-inventory-and-monitoring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/students-learning-field-map-technology-for-forestry-inventory-and-monitoring","title":{"rendered":"Students learning field map technology for forestry inventory and monitoring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 13<sup>th<\/sup> September 2022 students from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/\">Department of Ecosystems and Conservation<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sua.ac.tz\/\">Sokoine University of Agriculture<\/a> conducted practical training on Field map technology for forest inventory and monitoring at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kilimanjaro.biozentrum.uni-wuerzburg.de\/Default.aspx\">Scientific Station Nkweseko<\/a>, Kilimanjaro National Park.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fieldmap.cz\/\">field\u00a0map<\/a> is a technology that combines hardware and software for effective computer-aided field data collection and processing. The technology combines flexible real-time GIS software, and electronic equipment for mapping and dendrometric measurements. This technology is highly used in developed countries. It is more advantageous than other traditional inventory methods. These methods are easy to use, secure data loss, collect more information, and store data in industry-standard data format. Allow many processing functions and is more accurate than manual operations.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3813 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/forestry-inventory-and-monitoring-in-Tanzania-.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1186\" height=\"1581\" \/>Students participated in measuring forest inventory parameters by using the Laser range finder scanner<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3814 size-full\"
