Taxonomy and systematics encompass the relatively basic areas of insects. The goal of this field practical training was to introduce students to the incredible diversity and abundance of insects and to prepare specimens for further analysis. Upon Completion of this field practical training, students will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Describe the diversity of insects collected in Lake Chala.<\/li>\n<li>Identify insects using taxonomic classification.<\/li>\n<li>Sort insects into \u201cmorphospecies\u201d \u2013 similar-looking species.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare specimens for further studies including molecular analysis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The field practical training on entomology hands-on learning experience with insects is offered under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.erasmuscontan.eu\/\">CONTAN project<\/a>. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.erasmuscontan.eu\/\">CONTAN project<\/a> is an Erasmus + Capacity-building project in the field of higher education \u201cDeveloping curricula for biodiversity monitoring and conservation in Tanzania\u201d. The Project Partners in the EU: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unifi.it\/\">University of Florence<\/a>, (coordinator), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.muse.it\/\">MUSE \u2013 Science museum<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ku.dk\/\">University of Copenhagen<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-bayreuth.de\/en\/\">University of Bayreuth<\/a>. Partners in Tanzania: the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sua.ac.tz\/\">Sokoine University of Agriculture<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.udsm.ac.tz\/\">University of Dar es Salaam<\/a>, and <a
