This course is offered in the <a class=\"row-title\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/wp-admin\/post.php?post=3467&amp;action=edit\" aria-label=\"\u201cBachelor of Science in Forestry\u201d (Edit)\">Bachelor of Science in Forestry<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/study\/postgraduate-degrees\/master-of-science-in-forestry\">M.Sc Forestry<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/students\/postgraduate-students\/master-of-science-in-agroforestry\">M.Sc Agroforestry<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/students\/postgraduate-students\/master-of-science-in-ecosystems-science-and-management\">M.Sc Ecosystem Science and Management<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/phd\">PhD<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Forests and trees make the Earth habitable. They provide us with safe drinking water and clean air. They are an important defense against <a title=\"Global Climate Fund\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/global-climate-fund\">global warming because they store vast amounts of carbon and moderate the climate<\/a>. They are home to the majority of the planet&#8217;s incredible biodiversity. They offer shade, entertainment, and a sense of well-being. And they provide a living for billions of people all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>Forest <a title=\"Ecosystems and Conservation\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/ecosystems-and-conservation\">ecosystem<\/a> restoration entails replanting trees on former forest land and improving the condition of degraded forests. It can include conserving wild plants and animals, as well as protecting the soils and <a title=\"Capacity building on forest conservation and management of water sources in mount Lugala and mount Mosi village land forest reserves in Iringa Rural District (2013-2015).\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/research\/capacity-building-on-forest-conservation-and-management-of-water-sources-in-mount-lugala-and-mount-mosi-village-land-forest-reserves-in-iringa-rural-district-2013-2015\">water sources that are part of the forest<\/a> ecosystem. In some cases, assisting the natural regeneration of local plant species is the best way to achieve this, whereas in others, <a title=\"Tanzania Fund for Tree Planting and Beekeeping 2022\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/tanzania-fund-for-tree-planting-and-beekeeping-2022\">planting trees<\/a> and other vegetation speeds up the process of restoring the health and productivity of degraded landscapes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <a title=\"African Forest Forum Quarterly Newsletter -Volume 8 Issue 1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/african-forest-forum-quarterly-newsletter-volume-8-issue-1\">African Forest<\/a> Landscape Initiative, known as AFR100 is an ambitious initiative that targets to bring 100 million hectares of degraded and deforested land in Africa into restoration by 2030. <a title=\"National Beekeeping Research Master Plan of Tanzania\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/national-beekeeping-research-master-plan-of-tanzania\">Tanzania is one of the AFR100 nations<\/a>. Tanzania, which joined the initiative in 2018, committed to restoring 5.2 million hectares of degraded <a title=\"Call for Proposals \u2013 Forest Management Planning for Village Land Forest Reserves\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/call-for-proposals-forest-management-planning-for-village-land-forest-reserves\">land and forests<\/a> by 2030. This pledge was followed by the formation of a national task force led by the Tanzania <a title=\"Forest Officer II (Assistant to Academician) -(3 posts)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/forest-officer-ii-assistant-to-academician-3-posts\">Forest Service and the Vice President&#8217;s Office<\/a>.
