{"id":5788,"date":"2023-03-21T16:33:04","date_gmt":"2023-03-21T13:33:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/?p=5788"},"modified":"2023-03-21T21:29:22","modified_gmt":"2023-03-21T18:29:22","slug":"awareness-prog-on-biodiversity-conservation-held","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/awareness-prog-on-biodiversity-conservation-held","title":{"rendered":"Awareness prog on biodiversity conservation held"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>MIAO, 19 Mar:<\/strong>\u00a0The GB Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment\u2019s Itanagar-based Northeast regional centre (GBPNIHE-NERC) organised a \u2018regional awareness programme-cum-workshop on biodiversity conservation in relation to changing climate\u2019 at Mpen-II village here in Changlang district on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop, sponsored by the NABARD, was attended by 50 participants from M\u2019Pen and Lama villages, besides GBs, and staffers of the GBPNIHE-NERC.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the participants, GBPNIHE-NERC scientist Dr Wishfully Mylliemngap apprised them of the institute\u2019s R&amp;D programmes, while NABARD DDM Kamal Roy\u00a0\u00a0 spoke about the initiatives being taken up by the NABARD, such as the integrated tribal development project, the spring shed project, and others, in the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe NABARD is acting as the national implementing entity for the adaptation fund under the United Nations Framework Conventions on <a title=\"Public Awareness on Climate Change\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/public-awareness-on-climate-change-2\">Climate Change<\/a> and the National Adaptation Fund for Climate Change,\u201d Roy informed.<\/p>\n<p>He also highlighted the developmental interventions of the NABARD in farm and off-farm sectors for the uplift of rural people.<\/p>\n<p>Miao-based NGO Society for Environment Awareness &amp; <a title=\"Transmitters for Wildlife Conservation\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/transmitters-for-wildlife-conservation\">Conservation of Wildlife\u2019s<\/a> secretary Phupla Singpho delivered a speech on \u201calternative livelihood options by promoting ecotourism in Arunachal Pradesh.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other resource persons from the GBPNIHE-NERC informed the participants about the faunal diversity of Arunachal and how to identify them.
