The COFO working group, the FAO Forestry Division and the FAO elearning Academy (FAO-PSU) are extremely pleased to announce the publication of the certified elearning course \u201cTransforming dryland forests and agrosilvopastoral systems\u201d available free of charge, as a global public good, through the FAO elearning Academy:\u00a0https:\/\/elearning.fao.org\/course\/view.php?id=945<\/a><\/p>\n

The course is the result of a huge collaborative effort involving COFO WG, Forest Rangelands and Watershed Organization (FRWO) of the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture in Iran, Global Environment Facility (GEF),\u00a0the\u00a0Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia, the Forest, Climate and Livelihood Research Network,\u00a0Global Landscapes Forum,\u00a0International Centre for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA),\u00a0International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI),\u00a0International Union for the Conservation of Nature, Livestock Climate and System Resilience, Swedish Forest Agency,\u00a0Swedish University of Science and Agriculture,\u00a0Universidad de la Guajira,\u00a0Universite Mohammed V Rabat, University of Bern, WOCAT,\u00a0WANA Institute\u00a0and World Overview of Conservation Approaches and Technologies.<\/p>\n

This is again a perfect example of excellent collaboration between a number of partner institutions, and we would like to express our appreciation, for the hard work, high level of professionalism and dedication\u00a0to the following experts:<\/p>\n

The\u00a0COFO Working Group on Dryland Forests and Agrosilvopastoral Systems<\/a>\u00a0would like to invite you to the official launch of the FAO e-learning course:\u00a0Transforming Dryland Forests and Agrosilvopastoral Systems.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

The exciting new course will build the competencies needed to transform the way practitioners manage dryland forests<\/a>, with a focus on increasing sustainability whilst retaining the benefits of other interventions. It targets programme and project managers<\/a>, field practitioners, policy makers and anyone interested in sustainable development of drylands. After the launch, it will be available free on the FAO Learning Academy platform.<\/p>\n

The launch event will take place on Zoom on\u00a029 March 2023, 10.00-11.30 CEST,<\/b>\u00a0and includes a packed agenda of high-level speakers, experts and partners who will discuss some of the course\u2019s topics in detail. There will be interpretation in\u00a0English, French and Farsi.<\/b><\/p>\n
