The total amount of funding available varies depending on Congressional appropriations but tends to be $30,000-$50,000. Individual SJV Awards <a title=\"Wild Animal Small Grants Program\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/wild-animal-small-grants-program\">Program grants<\/a> range from $5,000-$15,000, and we anticipate funding four to six awards in 2023.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Management\">Management<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Please read the <a title=\"Request for Proposals: Illegal Wildlife Trade Challenge Fund\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/request-for-proposals-illegal-wildlife-trade-challenge-fund\">Request for Proposals carefully as the application process and funding<\/a> priorities have changed.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Funding_Priorities\">Funding Priorities:<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>While a project can <a title=\"How to Address the Complicated Issue of Water Conservation\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/how-to-address-the-complicated-issue-of-water-conservation\">address a range of issues<\/a>, proposals for work that address one or more of the below priorities will score better:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with land stewards to improve land use practices and <a title=\"Conservation Action Fund\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/conservation-action-fund\">conservation actions<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Habitat restoration and protection efforts for aridlands, grasslands, riparian habitat, forests, coastal wetlands, and islands in support of priority bird species as defined by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sonoranjv.org\/plans\/conservation-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SJV Bird Conservation Plan<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Bird monitoring to measure effectiveness of habitat restoration activities<\/li>\n<li>Projects that address issues of social and <a title=\"Online Course: Environmental Justice\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/online-course-environmental-justice\">environmental justice<\/a> and contribute to building equity and inclusion, including Indigenous-led projects that support Indigenous food and language sovereignty<\/li>\n<li>Social science, human dimensions, or strategic communications to support any of the above priorities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Please\u00a0<a title=\"Programs &amp;
