We believe there is great conservation progress to be made by broadening the field of committed individuals working to address the global wildlife conservation challenge.<\/p>\n<p>Conservation Nation supports innovative, on-the-ground conservation around the world by practitioners from traditionally marginalized communities. Our focus is on helping foster <a title=\"WWF Prince Bernhard Scholarships for Nature Conservation\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/wwf-prince-bernhard-scholarships-for-nature-conservation\">conservation solutions that serve the needs of both nature<\/a> and people and in terrestrial, marine, or freshwater ecosystems that support a wide range of biodiversity.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to providing <a title=\"Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) invites proposals for project funding\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/global-biodiversity-information-facility-gbif-invites-proposals-for-project-funding\">project funding<\/a>, we support our grantees with ongoing professional development and capacity-building opportunities to ensure their growth and success so that they stay and thrive in the field of conservation.<\/p>\n<p>We also place a strong emphasis on ensuring that <a title=\"Emerging Conservationist Grants\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/emerging-conservationist-grants\">grant recipients share their work and knowledge and become mentors for our Youth Conservationists<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Established Conservationist Grants\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/established-conservationist-grants\">Conservationists are eligible for funding up to US$10,000 for a grant<\/a> period of one to two years.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"The call for applications is open: OWSD PhD Fellowships\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/the-call-for-applications-is-open-owsd-phd-fellowships\">Applications must be submitted through the grants portal which will open<\/a> the first week of May. A letter of <a title=\"Local Project Support\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/local-project-support\">support must be provided with the application to show the intent of co-creation of the project<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Priority will go to projects that are sustainable and have community involvement.<\/li>\n<li>The applicant must have a working bank account that can receive electronic funds in USD.<\/li>\n<li>In consideration of our mission, our preference is to fund individuals and small non-profit organizations. This must be a nonprofit organization under your country&#8217;s laws, or a nongovernmental organization who follows other foreign government laws for charitable purposes. Funds may cover incidentals, meals, and expenses.<\/li>\n<li>Funding to support in-country personnel at project sites.<\/li>\n<li>Funding to support intern stipends and wages of persons supporting the project, to be awarded on a case-by-case basis.<\/li>\n<li>Stipends or honoraria for guest speakers or lecturers, to be awarded on a case-by-case basis.<\/li>\n<li>Dependent care assistance for a minor (child) or adult dependent for whom you are responsible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Items purchased for <a title=\"Launching of the Development Corridors Partnership (DCP) Project in Tanzania\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/launching-of-the-development-corridors-partnership-dcp-project-in-tanzania\">projects in partnership<\/a> with range country organizations may be donated to the organization at the conclusion of its intended use in the grant-funded project. E.g., Community presentation for an affiliated organization or group, conference, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Reporting:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide one-to-two \u201cAbout your project\u201d blogs for the <a title=\"Small Grants for Conservation Projects\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/small-grants-for-conservation-projects\">Conservation<\/a> Nation website.<\/li>\n<li>To provide updates on your project via filling-out of periodic surveys to <a title=\"New framework launched to track progress on coral reef biodiversity\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/new-framework-launched-to-track-progress-on-coral-reef-biodiversity\">track progress<\/a>. These surveys may ask you for data points such as shareable GPS coordinates, media uploads (audio, images, video, or other), and to answer some brief questions. We will use this data to track the impact on <a title=\"Funding for Conservation Projects\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/funding-for-conservation-projects\">funded projects<\/a> and to engage our donors.<\/li>\n<li>A brief check-in with the <a title=\"Call for proposals to support Africa\u2019s Science Granting Councils in funding and managing research and innovation\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/call-for-proposals-to-support-africas-science-granting-councils-in-funding-and-managing-research-and-innovation\">grants manager<\/a> half-way through and at the end of project.<\/li>\n<li>Completion of an interim, mid-year check-in report to share with our supporters across our communication channels, I.e., website, social media, emails, and donation platform.<\/li>\n<li>Completion of an end-of-year summary, in the form of a recorded PowerPoint presentation, StoryMap, or video presentation that we can share with our supporters to show our collective team\u2019s work to save threatened wildlife.<\/li>\n<li>A complete financial accounting of grant funds awarded, including a copy of all receipts. Grant funds should be spent down within the contract year. If needed, a 3-month extension would be considered upon request.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Image Usage\/Recognition:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Media Release: Any images that you provide to <a title=\"United Nations Development Programme \u2014 Pathfinder Award for Innovation in Nature Conservation\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/united-nations-development-programme-pathfinder-award-for-innovation-in-nature-conservation\">Conservation Nation<\/a> may be used as part of marketing campaigns, donor outreach, social media posts, and\/or posted to the Conservation Nation website.
