CIFOR and ICRAF are non-profit science institutions that build and apply evidence to today\u2019s most pressing challenges, including energy insecurity and the climate and biodiversity crises. Over a combined total of 65 years, we have built a vast knowledge of <a title=\"Science without Borders Challenge 2024\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/science-without-borders-challenge-2024\">forests<\/a> and trees outside of forests in agricultural landscapes (agroforestry). Using a multidisciplinary approach, we seek to improve lives and protect and <a title=\"Vacant: Junior Professor in Agro- and Ecosystems Restoration Engineering\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/vacant-junior-professor-in-agro-and-ecosystems-restoration-engineering\">restore ecosystems<\/a>. Our work focuses on <a title=\"Calling for innovative ocean-minded startups\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/calling-for-innovative-ocean-minded-startups\">innovative<\/a> research, partnering for impact, and engaging with stakeholders on policies and practices to benefit people and the planet. Founded in 1993 and 1978, CIFOR and ICRAF are members of CGIAR, a global research partnership for a food-secure future dedicated to reducing poverty, enhancing food and nutrition security, and improving <a title=\"Assistant Research Fellow (Natural Resources Management)(Re-Advertised) \u2013 2 Post\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/assistant-research-fellow-natural-resources-managementre-advertised-2-post\">natural resources<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CIFOR-ICRAF is looking for Asia <a title=\"Community rights and REDD+ in Indonesia\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/community-rights-and-redd-in-indonesia\">Communication<\/a> Coordinator<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This leadership position is an exciting opportunity to join one of the leading <a title=\"Science Communication Course\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/science-communication-course\">science communications<\/a> programs in the world. The Asia Communications Coordinator will oversee regional communications initiatives from across the continent, linking them to global communications outreach for CIFOR-ICRAF. The successful applicant will work with a high-performing, dynamic, and creative team and contribute to CIFOR-ICRAF\u2019s global efforts to stabilize the <a title=\"Funding for Climate or Clean Energy Projects\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/funding-for-climate-or-clean-energy-projects-3\">climate<\/a>, reverse biodiversity loss, and improve food security.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re looking for someone with creative vision and drive, who is a communications all-rounder and experienced manager with a keen eye for detail and quality. The <a title=\"Programme Officer \u2013 Planning, Coordination and Information Management (PO \u2013 PCIM) at EAMCEF\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/programme-officer-planning-coordination-and-information-management-po-pcim-at-eamcef\">coordinator will oversee communications products from planning<\/a>, implementing, and reporting on project and country-related communications activities. They will also oversee communications for the CIFOR Headquarters office in Bogor, Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be responsible management of the Bogor Office and all Asia geographic communications.<\/li>\n<li>Manage communications staff and consultants in the region with dual reporting lines to their head of Duty Station.<\/li>\n<li>Manage regional communication channels including the website (regional, national, and <a title=\"Call for Projects 2023\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/call-for-projects-2023\">projects)<\/a>, social media and language blogs, and news.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"LIVELIHOODS AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT MANAGER\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/livelihoods-and-community-development-manager\">Develop and manage a roster of communications<\/a> consultants in the region.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Multi-stakeholder workshop for the National Bamboo Development Strategy and Action Plan\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/multi-stakeholder-workshop-for-the-national-bamboo-development-strategy-and-action-plan\">Develop and implement communication strategies and tactical plans<\/a> including messaging, budgets, action plans, and performance metrics for country offices, projects, and programs.<\/li>\n<li>Plan and produce content such as publications, articles, web content, social media content, media releases, infographics, videos, photography, newsletters, presentations, and event-related content.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Postdoc \u2013 Forest management planning\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/postdoc-forest-management-planning\">Manage events including planning<\/a>, marketing, implementation, and reporting on results. Including regional participation in global events.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate media interactions in the region.<\/li>\n<li>All production be undertaken in coordination with and using the resources of the COE communications team and consultants.<\/li>\n<li>Produce analytical reports on the performance of all communications activities.<\/li>\n<li>Undertake other communication activities as agreed upon. All activities are undertaken in coordination with and using the resources of the COE team and consultants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify and <a title=\"Climate change mitigation: reducing emissions\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/climate-change-mitigation-reducing-emissions\">mitigate<\/a> potential risks within your work area.<\/li>\n<li>Take reasonable care of your own occupational health and safety and that of others as obliged by CIFOR-ICRAF\u2019s Occupational Health and Safety Policy and cooperate with CIFOR-ICRAF in complying with requirements under any statutory health and safety provisions of relevant Country laws.<\/li>\n<li>Participation in projects as may be required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education, knowledge, and experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s degree in communications, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent working experience.<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in strategic communications planning, messaging, and monitoring.<\/li>\n<li>4 years of full-time experience in journalism, writing, editing, digital and print media, video production, or broadcasting.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent understanding of different communication formats and channels and strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media\/social media.<\/li>\n<li>Background and understanding of environment, <a title=\"Funding: Climate-resilient Action in African Countries\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/funding-climate-resilient-action-in-african-countries\">climate<\/a>, forestry, or related subject areas and science communications.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent <a title=\"University english language placement examination\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/university-english-language-placement-examination\">English language<\/a> skills (both verbal and written).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Terms and conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This is a local position.
