Under this initiative, they are setting up an \u2018Effective Inter-regional Incubator for Youth\u2019 designed to support\u00a0<strong>undergraduate\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>postgraduate<\/strong>\u00a0students in turning their innovative ideas into tangible projects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>About the <\/strong><a title=\"Latest Funds for projects and Calls for Proposals\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/latest-funds-for-projects-and-calls-for-proposals\">Call for Proposal<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This Call for Proposals is for\u00a0<strong>undergraduate<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>postgraduate students<\/strong>\u00a0from around the world who are committed to personal and professional development and are eager to tackle <a title=\"Global Biodiversity Challenge 2023\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/global-biodiversity-challenge-2023\">global challenges<\/a>. Selected individuals will receive mentoring, seed <a title=\"Funguo Innovation Programme 2nd Funding Round\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/funguo-innovation-programme-2nd-funding-round\">funding<\/a>, and other support to implement their projects using AI, with the objective of promoting multilingualism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Focus Areas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proposals should focus on the application of AI tools into inter-regional and multilingual learning\/research processes, as well as education, health, food security, entrepreneurship promotion, poverty eradication, gender equality, <a title=\"Call for consultancy services: recruitment of experts to review and synthesise information on the nexus between climate change, forests and trees\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/call-for-consultancy-services-recruitment-of-experts-to-review-and-synthesise-information-on-the-nexus-between-climate-change-forests-and-trees\">climate change<\/a>, disaster risk reduction, and the blue ocean economy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Funding Selection Process<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each year, 25 proposals will receive up to\u00a0<strong>\u20ac10,000<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0<strong>seed funding<\/strong>, with the most promising <a title=\"Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) invites proposals for project funding\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/global-biodiversity-information-facility-gbif-invites-proposals-for-project-funding\">projects receiving additional funding<\/a> over the following three years. The selection process will prioritize fair regional representation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Submission and Selection Process<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The process involves pre-selection based on <a title=\"PhD Research Concept Note: Invasion, impacts and management of Prosopis and Water Hyacinth in Tanzania\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/phd-research-concept-note-invasion-impacts-and-management-of-prosopis-and-water-hyacinth-in-tanzania\">concept notes<\/a> (Phase 1 Call for Proposals), followed by full proposal selection. An international committee of experts will oversee the process. The final phases include documentation submission, contract signing, <a title=\"Call for Projects 2023\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/call-for-projects-2023\">project<\/a> implementation, and the establishment of a network of project implementers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Important Dates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Phase 1<\/strong>: It runs from\u00a0<strong>February 2024 to July 2024<\/strong>, with\u00a0<strong>concept note presentations<\/strong>\u00a0accepted until\u00a0<strong>30 April 2024<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>proposal submissions<\/strong>\u00a0open from\u00a0<strong>1 July 2024 to 31 August 2024<\/strong>. Link for Phase 1 can be accessed via\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/shorturl.at\/APSW9\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/shorturl.at\/APSW9&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1708762751427000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1jGuNjNdWOypWbD4zmsM_Y\">https:\/\/shorturl.at\/APSW9<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Phase 2<\/strong>: It will run from\u00a0<strong>July to September 2024,\u00a0<\/strong>with <a title=\"Whitley Fund for Nature \u2014 Whitley Awards 2023\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/uncategorized\/whitley-fund-for-nature-whitley-awards-2023\">funding awarded<\/a> by\u00a0<strong>15 October 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Phase 3:<\/strong>\u00a0Documentation submission will be due by\u00a0<strong>31 October 2024<\/strong>, and projects will start on\u00a0<strong>15 November 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <a title=\"2024 Jacobs Foundation Research Fellowship Program Applications Open\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/ecosystems\/news\/2024-jacobs-foundation-research-fellowship-program-applications-open\">call is open<\/a> to students from Commonwealth member states and for non-member countries (up to three proposals in total).
