This is essential to preserve and restore biodiversity in lakes, rivers, wetlands, marine ecosystem, and estuaries, and to prevent and limit damage from floods.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Soil:<\/strong>\u00a0Contribute to the soil-related commitments set in the EU Biodiversity Strategy towards 2030<\/li>\n<li><strong>Noise:<\/strong>\u00a0Under this heading, priority will be given to projects in urban areas in order to improve the situation for a maximum number of persons.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chemicals:<\/strong>\u00a0Prevention and Reduction of the impact on the environment or human\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.fundsforngos.org\/category\/health\/\">health<\/a>, of hazardous substances.<\/li>\n<li><strong>A new European Bauhaus:<\/strong>\u00a0It is suitable to develop synergies for supporting this initiative under LIFE Circular economy and quality of life and LIFE Nature and Biodiversity, including for showcasing the potential of the Bauhaus initiative in third countries associated to the LIFE Programme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\">SAP focussing exclusively on environmental\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.fundsforngos.org\/category\/democracy-good-governance\/\">governance<\/a>\u00a0are excluded from this Call topic and covered by the related Call topic named LIFE-2023-SAP-ENV-GOV.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Funding Information<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>The estimated available call budget is EUR 81 000 000.<\/li>\n<li>Grants for EUR 8,000,000 for Bauhaus subtopic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Expected Impact<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants are expected to define, calculate, explain and achieve the expected impacts as described in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.fundsforngos.org\/category\/awards\/\">Award<\/a>\u00a0criterion \u2018Impact\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>All LIFE proposals will have to report on their expected outputs and impacts taking into account the LIFE Key Performance indicators (KPIs). These KPIs will contribute to evaluating the impact of the LIFE proposals on an environmental but also socioeconomic level (e.g. via actions impacting the local economy and population).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>In order to be eligible, the applicants (beneficiaries and affiliated entities) must:<\/li>\n<li>Be legal entities (public or private bodies)<\/li>\n<li>Be established in one of the eligible countries, i.e.:\n<ul>\n<li>EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories (OCTs))<\/li>\n<li>Non-EU countries:\n<ul>\n<li>Listed EEA countries and countries associated to the LIFE Programme or countries which are in ongoing negotiations for an association agreement and where the agreement enters into force before\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.fundsforngos.org\/category\/latest-funds-for-ngos\/\">grant<\/a>\u00a0signature<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The coordinator must be established in an eligible country.<\/li>\n<li>Beneficiaries and affiliated entities must register in the Participant Register \u2014 before submitting the proposal \u2014 and will have to be validated by the Central Validation Service (REA Validation). For the validation, they will be requested to upload documents showing legal status and origin.<\/li>\n<li>Other entities may participate in other consortium roles, such as associated partners, subcontractors, third parties giving in-kind contributions, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Specific Cases<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Exceptional funding<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Entities from other countries are exceptionally eligible, if the granting authority considers their participation essential for the implementation of the action .<\/li>\n<li><strong>Natural persons<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Natural persons are NOT eligible (with the exception of selfemployed persons, i.e. sole traders, where the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.fundsforngos.org\/category\/business-industry\/\">company<\/a>\u00a0does not have legal personality separate from that of the natural person).<\/li>\n<li><strong>International organisations<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 International organisations are eligible. The rules on eligible countries do not apply to them.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Entities without legal personality<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Entities which do not have legal personality under their national law may exceptionally participate, provided that their representatives have the capacity to undertake legal obligations on their behalf, and offer guarantees for the protection of the EU financial interests equivalent to that offered by legal persons .<\/li>\n<li><strong>EU bodies<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 EU bodies (with the exception of the European Commission Joint\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.fundsforngos.org\/category\/research\/\">Research<\/a>\u00a0Centre) can NOT be part of the consortium.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Associations and interest groupings<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Entities composed of members may participate as \u2018sole beneficiaries\u2019 or \u2018beneficiaries without legal personality\u2019.
