It opened an office in Dar es Salaam in 1982. They work with local project partners and, at the regional level, with the East African Community (EAC), which is based in Arusha.With a population of around 50 million,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fursampya365.com\/\">Tanzania<\/a>\u00a0is one of the most populous countries in sub-Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past five years, its economy has grown steadily at an average rate of 7%. However, exploitation of gas and other mineral resources is still at an early stage. In the current Five Year Development Plan (2016\u20132021), the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.giz.de\/en\/html\/index.html\">Government<\/a>\u00a0is prioritising the rapid expansion of infrastructure and the manufacturing industry, thus enabling Tanzania to make the transition to middle income country status.<\/p>\n<p>German-Tanzanian cooperation focuses on the following priority areas:health water biodiversity.
