\"Wood<\/p>\n

On 6th<\/sup> August, 2018 the WoodCluster project team visited Sao Hill Plantation in Mafinga which is owned by the government of Tanzania. The visit was one of the activities in the first summer and field school which was organised by the department of Forest and Environmental Economics. The Team included coallegues from Huwassa University (Ethiopia), Makerere University (Uganda), Technical university Dresden (Germany) and Sokoine University of Agriculture (Tanzania) who were the hosts through the department of Forest and Environmental Economics.<\/p>\n

The Project team learned a lot from the discussion with the staff of Tanzania Forest Service (TFS) who are managing the Plantation and also provided their comments on some issues concerning the operation of the farm. The visit generated mutual benefits and experiences for each participant including the opportunity to supplement the theoretical knowledge with field circumstances.<\/p>\n

It was established that academic institutions which basically creates professionals should cooperate with the stakeholders such as TFS and others so as to understand the gaps and demands in the forestry sector and tackle the identified setbacks in a viable approach.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
