The existing gender norms and disparities, coupled with limited participation in decision-making processes, often hinder women from contributing fully to climate solutions.<\/p>\n<p>A recent report from UN Women, launched during the conference, paints a concerning picture for the future. It suggests that by 2050,\u00a0<a title=\"National Climate Change Response Strategy\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncmc.sua.ac.tz\/news\/national-climate-change-response-strategy\">climate change<\/a>\u00a0could force an additional 158 million women and girls into poverty, with 236 million more facing food insecurity.<\/p>\n<p>Despite these challenges, there is optimism. Women can play a crucial role in\u00a0<a title=\"Verra Reviews Improved Forest Management Methodologies\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncmc.sua.ac.tz\/news\/verra-reviews-improved-forest-management-methodologies\">climate<\/a>\u00a0solutions, a point underscored on \u2018Gender Equality Day\u2019 at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/foresteconomics\/wp-admin\/post.php?post=4383&amp;action=edit\">COP28<\/a>. Women changemakers showcased their impactful contributions, demonstrating how they are driving\u00a0<a title=\"Why forest carbon credits are an important part of climate action\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncmc.sua.ac.tz\/news\/why-forest-carbon-credits-are-an-important-part-of-climate-action\">climate action<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A notable event during the conference was a panel discussion on the \u2018Women Rise for All\u2019 platform, organized by the UN Office of Partnerships at the Creator Hub.
