The processing and awarding of scholarships and subsequent admission of PhD candidates shall have the following stages, namely:
- Call for scholarship applications be on 5th December 2025 and the deadline for submission is on 25th January 2026;
- Receiving, documenting archiving and summarising of applications;
- Shortlisting of applicants for interviews;
- Interviewing shortlisted applicants at partner universities in the candidates’ home countries;
- Compilation of the interview results by the Porgramme Task Force followed by a recommendation of the Academic Advisory Committee (AAC) to Sida for award of the 20 scholarships to successful applicants; and
- Notifying successful candidates by the REFOREST Programme Coordinator.
