{"id":225,"date":"2017-03-15T09:36:52","date_gmt":"2017-03-15T09:36:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/reforestry\/?page_id=225"},"modified":"2025-12-06T19:37:59","modified_gmt":"2025-12-06T16:37:59","slug":"phd-forest-sciences","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.cfwt.sua.ac.tz\/reforest\/phd-forest-sciences\/","title":{"rendered":"About the PhD Forest Sciences Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The PhD Forest Sciences Degree Programme comprises of one year of course-work followed by three years of research, publishing papers in internationally recognized journals and thesis writing before graduation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Each applicant is required to generate and submit a concept note based on one of the following themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Theme 1: Commercial forestry and bio-economy;<\/li>\n<li>Theme 2: Sustainable Natural Forest Management;<\/li>\n<li>Theme 3: Agroforestry;<\/li>\n<li>Theme 4: Climate change; and<\/li>\n<li>Theme 5: Biodiversity and Ecosystems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the first phase (January 2020 \u2013 March 2025) of the Sida-supported Programme, 18 PhD students completed their studies, graduated and returned to their home countries all are working in forestry and related positions.
