The Department of Ecosystems and Conservation, College of Forestry, Wildlife and Tourism, is proud to announce the successful PhD defense of Mr. Francis Laswai. His research, titled “Effects of Pinus Patula Rotations on Soil and Foliar Nutrients, Plantation Productivity, and Wood Quality at SaoHill, Tanzania,” marks a significant contribution to forestry science and sustainable plantation management.
Throughout his study, Mr. Laswai meticulously examined how different rotations of Pinus patula impact soil and foliar nutrient dynamics, plantation growth, and overall wood quality. His findings provide valuable insights for enhancing forest productivity, soil health, and sustainable timber production in Tanzania and beyond.
The Department extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Laswai for his dedication, perseverance, and outstanding achievement. We also acknowledge the guidance and support of faculty members, fellow researchers, and everyone who contributed to the success of his PhD journey.
As we continue to advance forestry and conservation research, we celebrate this academic milestone and look forward to seeing the impact of Mr. Laswai’s work in scientific advancements and practical applications in plantation forestry.
