NEW PhD AT THE DEPARTMENT OF FOREST AND ENVIRONMENTAL ECONOMICS

On 23rd August, 2019, Dr. Greyson Nyamoga who is a Lecturer and Researcher in the department of forest and environmental economics successfully defended his PhD thesis at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Norway.  His PhD focused on developing a Forest Sector Model for Tanzania which will be used for forecasting both demand and supply of the forest products as well as technological improvements and their environmental implications.

The title for his thesis is “Analyzing aspects of land-use sustainability in Tanzania: Current forest degradation, urban charcoal demand, and impacts of future firewood and charcoal consumption”. With this achievement the number of PhD holders at the department now increase to seven (7). Sincere congratulation to Dr. Nyamoga from the department for this marvelous accomplishment.
