Dear New Students:
We want to welcome each of you to Department Tourism and Recreation(DTR), SOKOINE UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE! You are about to begin three years of the most exciting times in your life, and everyone in the Department wants to help you make your “DTR Experience” a greater one.
You often hear that SOKOINE UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE (SUA) is a special place, and it is! Its depth of character, traditions, diversity, commitment to academic excellence, as well as its beautiful natural surroundings contribute to making DTR an exemplary academic environment. As a department we want you to enjoy the campus and take full advantage of everything SUA offers and, in doing so, we encourage you to take appropriate personal and collective precautions when living, learning, working, and playing at SUA.
We take your safety very seriously and we want you to do the same. DTR takes the issues of sexual assault, hazing, and the dangers of alcohol consumption very seriously. We ask that you commit to preventing these issues from interfering with your educational experience. Your safety is, and always will be, our department’s greatest concern.
