I am a tutorial assistant in the Department of Forest Engineering and Wood Sciences with strong interests in non-timber forest products, forest and wood products certification, forest landscape restoration, plants and community ecology, and sawmilling.

Currently my work is focused on:

  • Certification of forest and wood products as a tool for forest resource management
  • Ethnobotanical knowledge and use value of various tree species
  • Fire resistance of Miombo and lesser utilized timber species
  • Multivariate studies of forest and wood resource parameters
  • Mechanical and physical wood testing (bending strength, modulus of rupture and elasticity, bonding properties of adhesives)
