Employment Opportunity: Tutorial Assistant (Forest Botany)

Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) was established on the 1^st July, 1984 by the Act of Parliament No.6 of the same year, which was repealed by the Universities Act No.7 of 2005 from which the SUA Charter was granted in 2007. The vision of the University is to be a leading University in the provision of quality knowledge,skills and innovations in agriculture and allied sciences. The Management of Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) invites suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill a position of Tutorial Assistant (Forest Botany) described below:- 

Specific qualifications: Holder of a Bachelor of Science Degree in either Forestry, Botany or their equivalent with a minimum GPA OF 3.8 from a recognized University.

General        description for      the     positions     of tutorial assistant;

Required Qualifications: A candidate in possession of a Bachelor / BSc Degree qualification with a Minimum GPA of 3.8 or an average of B+ for unclassified Degrees such as that of Veterinary and Medical graduates and assessed to be potentially good academically. In addition, one must have scored a minimum of B+ in the relevant subjects or its equivalent.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. This is a training post; the staff is required to undergo a Master’s Degree training programme;
2. Undergo an induction course in pedagogic skills for those who had none before;
3. Understudy senior members, including attending lectures and seminars, tutorials and practical training;
4. Conduct tutorials, seminars and practical;
5. Assist in research, consultancy and outreach activities; and
6. Perform other related duties that may be assigned by the relevant authorities.

Age: Not above 35 years of age

Remuneration: As per Treasury Registrar’s Circular No. 7 of 2015, which is applicable at the moment.
