Multi-stakeholder workshop for the National Bamboo Development Strategy and Action Plan

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism (MNRT) through the Forestry and Beekeeping Division (FBD) brings together and engages stakeholders in reviewing and improving the draft National Bamboo Development Strategy and Action Plan 2022– 2031.

Actors of the private sector, Non-government organizations (NGOs), Community-based Organizations (CBOs), research and academic institutions and relevant government agencies are engaged to contribute to the draft strategy for the betterment of the sector and country at large. Participants will discuss the challenges of the bamboo sector, which stem from inadequate financial and technological capacity, and how collaborative engagements, policy options, and strategic implementation can be covered in the strategy. The Department of Ecosystems and Conservation of the Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania Forestry Research Institute (TAFORI) and the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) are among the stakeholders of this workshop.
