Learning Outcomes

At the end of the of the course students will be able to

  • Understand the interrelationships between climate change, natural resources and gender
  • Differential impacts and vulnerability to climate change among gender
  • Design gender sensitive strategies for mitigation climate change impacts

Course Content

Overview of gender issues and climate change, causes of vulnerability, or specific conditions that make women, especially poor women vulnerable to climate change, gender inequality and climate change, link between gender equality, climate change and the millennium development goals (MDGs), gender-sensitive strategies for mitigation actions, gender considerations and promotion of PES schemes, gender implications in reduction of emissions, adaptation and mitigation agendas.
