Welcome Note

The Department of Ecosystems and Conservation is one of the six departments in the College of Forestry, Wildlife and Tourism, Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) located in Morogoro Region, Tanzania.

The Department was formed in July 1984 as a Department of Forestry Biology following the establishment of SUA by elevating the former Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine of the University of Dar es Salaam to a fully-fledged University of Agriculture. The name changed to Department of Ecosystems and Conservation to accommodate emerging issues and growing expertise in July 2017.
